Fried Chicken Sandwich (Air Fryer Recipe)
Ingredients
- 4 Boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 4 cups Pickle juice
- 2 cups Buttermilk
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 tsp Garlic powder
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 3 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tbsp Powdered sugar
- 4 tsp Cayenne pepper (optional)
- 4 Eggs (beaten)
- Peanut oil (or preferred oil)
- 8 Brioche (or hamburger) buns
- Pickles
- Mayonnaise (we prefer Dukes)
- Lettuce
Instructions
- Pour pickle juice and buttermilk in a bowl and submerge the chicken.
- Place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a bowl large enough for the chicken
- Add the egg to a bowl large enough to dredge the chicken and beat.
- Pre-heat air fryer to 400℉
- Dredge chicken in egg and then the flour mixture.
- Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and spritz with peanut oil.
- Air fry for 15 minutes.
- Open the air fryer and flip the chicken.
- Air fry for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is crisp. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has an internal temperature of at least 165℉.
- Toast the buns, if desired.
