Pour pickle juice and buttermilk in a bowl and submerge the chicken.
Place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a bowl large enough for the chicken
Add the egg to a bowl large enough to dredge the chicken and beat.
Pre-heat air fryer to 400℉
Dredge chicken in egg and then the flour mixture.
Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and spritz with peanut oil.
Air fry for 15 minutes.
Open the air fryer and flip the chicken.
Air fry for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is crisp. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has an internal temperature of at least 165℉.
Toast the buns, if desired.
