Ultimate Lasagna

Ingredients
  

  • lbs Ground Beef
  • ½ lb Veal (or Italian Sausage)
  • 1 large Onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Dried Basil
  • 1 tbsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tbsp Dried Parsley
  • 29 oz Canned Diced Tomatoes (with juice)
  • 12 oz Tomato Paste
  • 24 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 2 Eggs (beaten)
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 lb Mozzarella Cheese
  • 16 Lasagna Noodles

Instructions
 

  • Brown ground meat with onion and garlic.
  • Add spices, tomatoes with juice, tomato paste and. Stir until well mixed.
  • Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  • Grease a 13 x 9" baking pan (depending on how deep, you may need 2 pans)
  • Combine the ricotta, eggs, pepper, parmesan, two tablespoons parsley, and 1/2 1b of mozzarella cheese.
  • Spread a layer of meat sauce in baking pan, then cheese mixture, then noodles. Repeat additional layers until done.
  • Top off with a layer of noodles; sprinkle evenly with remaining mozzarella cheese, covering noodles completely.
  • Cover pan with foil and bake at 375° for 40 minutes.
  • Remove foil and continue to bake for another 15-20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let sit for 15-20 minutes before cutting and serving.
